Darton Archery has been in business since 1950, and they have been a staple for generations of archers. Recently, in 2020, Darton Archery was purchased by Randy Kitts. I asked Randy what the future of Darton Archery was, and he said, “To not become the Largest bow producer in the Industry but to become one of the best.”
How does an archery company become one of the best? That company has to develop new bows that entice hunters to buy one. Darton raised the bar in 2023 by releasing two new compound bows for archery hunters. Let’s take a look at the 2023 Veracity and Prelude E32!
Veracity
Price: $1049.99
Hunters who like a longer ATA bow can choose the Veracity, which is 35 inches ATA. The Veracity comes in draw weights of 40,50,60,70, and 80 pounds. The brace height measures 6 inches, and the let-off is 85%. The overall weight of the bow is 4.8 pounds, and it comes in draw lengths of 26 to 31.5 inches. The Veracity will produce speeds between 337 – 339 feet per second. These are great features, but there are more components that I have yet to mention.
The Veracity has a new riser made of 7075 T-6511 aluminum. The riser is pre-stressed and pre-stretched, so there is little to no flex. Besides the new riser, the Veracity includes an adjustable roller guard, 1/4 draw mod adjustments, and the QAD Integrated Rest option.
Shooting the Veracity is a dream! The grip is phenomenal and allows the bow to sit perfectly in your hand. Drawing the bow is effortless and silky smooth, while the back wall is stiff with little give. There is little to no hand shock when the shot breaks, and the bow is quiet. I will be using the Veracity for my 3D bow this year.
Prelude E32
Price: $1149.99
For hunters that enjoy a standard-length bow, Darton created the Prelude E32. The Prelude has a 32-inch ATA, a 6-inch brace height and can reach speed up to 442 fps. How did they generate that type of speed? They designed a new aggressive cam for the Prelude.
Besides the new aggressive cam, the Prelude offers some of the same features as the Veracity. Like the Veracity, the Prelude has the QAD Integrated Rest option, an adjustable roller guard, and a new grip. Darton put a resonance cancellation module at the bottom of the riser to help make it quieter.
The Prelude comes in draw lengths from 27 – 30.5 inches and weighs 4.9 pounds. Like the Veracity, the Prelude draw length is adjustable in 1/4 increments and comes in 40,50,60,70, and 80-pound models. The Prelude has an 80% let-off and comes with three sets of draw stop tabs to increase the let-off.
Darton has twenty-four different color options for their two new bows. These include camo patterns such as URSI Emerge, Vuni Gear Camo, Highlander Camo, and Kings Camo. If you want solid riser colors, you are in luck. Darton offers solid risers with camo limbs or black limbs. The black riser and black limb combination are sexy!
Darton Ultrarest Integrate IMX
Price: $269.99
Like many other bow companies, Darton has partnered with QAD to create an Integrated rest for their 2023 bows. The Integrated rest is available in right and left-handed models. If you are shooting an older model Darton and want to use this rest, you can. The rest will attach the traditional way through the Burger Button holes. Some of the essential features of this rest are the dovetail mounting clamps and full arrow containment. The Darton rest is 60% lighter than other micro rests and is micro-adjustable.
The Darton Integrated rest has been the most effortless rest to work with when it comes to attaching it and tuning my bows. I love this new rest because of its versatility. Being able to micro-adjust the rest makes tuning the bow easier.
Darton is doing precisely what Randy Kitts said, “To not become the Largest bow producer in the Industry but to become one of the best.” The 2023 lineup of bows and accessories is impressive. You can check out all of Darton’s bows and accessories at www.dartonarchery.com.
